Module 11 · 10:44 video + 10-question quiz
Safe Use of AI Tools at Work
Three questions before you paste: whose account (the approved tool on the work account, never a free app on your own), what data (five kinds that never go into a public AI tool — personal information, customer-confidential material, company secrets, passwords, NDA material), and is it true (every reference, number and name checked against the source). With the facts behind each: what a free app's small print really says, Verizon's 2026 numbers on shadow AI, the South African judgments on invented case law and the airline bound by its chatbot, AI note-takers in customer meetings, AI-written phishing that is clicked as often as the experts' (54%), AI assistants that act — and can be tricked — and reporting a slip at once.

The scenario
Tuesday, 16:05 — the claim report is due at five, so forty emails, the driver's ID number and the insurer's letter go into a free AI app on your own account. Ninety seconds later: four tidy pages, citing a clause that doesn't exist.
The habit this module drills
Whose account? What data? Is it true?
After this module you can
- ✓Use only the AI tools your organisation has approved, signed in with your work account — and ask IT when there isn't one.
- ✓Keep five kinds of information out of any public AI tool: personal information, customer-confidential material, company secrets, passwords and keys, and anything under a confidentiality agreement.
- ✓Check before you trust: every reference, number and name an AI gives you, against the source — and say when AI helped.
- ✓Report a slip at once if something went in that shouldn't have.
What this module evidences: ISO/IEC 27001:2022 clause 7.3 (awareness) and Annex A control A.6.3 (information security awareness, education and training); POPIA Regulation 4(1)(e) (the Information Officer's duty to see that internal awareness sessions are held). The quiz result is recorded against your account, and passing it earns this module’s dated certificate.
