Free internal audit software · free while the team edition is in beta
Run your whole internal audit programme in one place
An audit programme is not a pile of spreadsheets — it is one connected trail. You plan a campaign, auditors log what they audited, findings are captured against the clause they breach, and the serious ones automatically become numbered nonconformances that are worked to closure — with the whole team seeing the same live picture. Here is the complete walkthrough, start to finish.
14 minutes, narrated, with real screens from the app — or skip to the part you need below.
What the Audit Manager does
Campaigns, not spreadsheets
A campaign holds the plan — scope, objectives, the standards covered, dates and who audits which process. Assignments show Pending or Logged, so you can see how far the fieldwork has actually got without chasing anyone.
Findings anchored to the clause
Every finding is mapped to the clause it breaches, filtered to the standards your campaign covers. A guidance panel sits next to the description you're writing: what the clause really asks, what auditors look for, evidence examples and the common nonconformities.
Nonconformances raise themselves
Grade a finding Major or Minor and the formal NC already exists — its own number, a raised date and a 60-day due date. It can't be quietly deleted, and once closure work has started the finding behind it can't be downgraded either.
A closure workflow that holds
Root cause, planned action, implemented action, evidence — then submit for review. The reviewer accepts and closes, or returns it with a required comment. Every submit, return, reassignment and closure lands in the NC's history log.
The tracker and the KPIs
Aging chips on every NC (green, yellow past 60 days, red past 90), oldest first. The KPI tab turns the same data into an aging profile, closure profile, average days to close and an escalation list built for management review.
Four reports, printed from the browser
A process-audit mini report, the formal NC report with action log and signature blocks, the consolidated campaign report, and a campaign closure report that stays locked until every NC in the campaign is closed.
What's in the walkthrough
0:32 · What the Audit Manager is
One connected trail instead of a pile of spreadsheets — plan, audit, find, follow up, close.
0:55 · The workflow in five steps
Campaign → process audits → findings → automatic NCs → reviewed closure. Every screen is one box of this.
1:32 · Getting started
Sign in with a one-click email link — no password — and your workspace is created for you.
2:26 · Quick audit or campaign?
A quick audit is one standalone record; a campaign is the full programme. The rule of thumb for choosing.
2:58 · Team roles
Lead runs the programme, Auditors log audits and raise findings, Auditees respond to what's assigned to them.
3:34 · Inviting your team
Single-use invite links that expire after 14 days, with the joining role baked in.
4:24 · Creating a campaign
Auto-allocated number, scope and objectives, the standards it covers, dates and the lead auditor.
5:05 · Assigning auditors to processes
Who audits what — each assignment flips from Pending to Logged as the fieldwork lands.
5:46 · Logging a process audit
Process, area, date, people interviewed and the audit notes — with its own printable mini report.
6:34 · Findings — classify first
Major, Minor, OFI or Observation. The classification decides whether a formal NC is raised.
7:08 · Clause picker and guidance
Anchor the finding to a clause, then open plain-language guidance: what auditors look for, evidence, common NCs.
8:03 · Description, evidence, attachments
Objective evidence plus up to five attachments per finding — photos are compressed in the browser.
8:36 · Automatic nonconformances
Save a Major or Minor and the formal NC already exists: numbered, dated, 60-day due date, protected from deletion.
9:04 · The NC lifecycle
Open → submitted → closed or returned, enforced by the system. Nobody closes their own NC.
9:38 · Responding to an NC
Root cause, planned action, implemented action, closure evidence — then submit for review.
10:33 · Reviewing — accept or return
Check cause against finding, action against cause, evidence against action. Returns need a comment.
11:09 · The NC Tracker
Every NC with an aging chip — green, yellow past 60 days, red past 90 — oldest first, so it doubles as your priority list.
11:54 · KPIs and escalation
Aging and closure profiles, average days to close, per-campaign comparison and the over-60-day escalation list.
12:37 · The four printable reports
Process audit, formal NC, consolidated campaign, and the closure report that unlocks only when every NC is closed.
13:12 · Three tips
Load a sample campaign to explore, live updates with no refreshing, and full data export whenever you want it.
Common questions
Is Qlause Audit Manager really free?+
Yes — it is free while the team edition is in beta. Sign-in is a one-click link sent to your email address: no password to create and no card. If that ever changes, existing workspaces keep their data and can export it in full.
Which standards does it cover?+
Campaigns can be tagged to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 22000 and IATF 16949, and an IATF campaign automatically includes the ISO 9001 base clauses. The clause guidance comes from the Qlause Clause Explorer, which covers 213 clauses across six standards and frameworks.
Do I need to install anything?+
No. It runs in your browser, on desktop or phone. Reports print straight from the browser's print dialog, which is also how you save them as PDF.
Can my whole team use one workspace?+
Yes. A workspace has three roles: Lead (runs the programme, reviews and closes NCs), Auditor (logs process audits and raises findings) and Auditee (read-only, plus responding to the NCs assigned to them). You add people with single-use invite links that carry the joining role and expire after 14 days. Working alone is fine too — you are the Lead of your own workspace.
What is the difference between a quick audit and a campaign?+
A quick audit is a single standalone audit — clause-mapped findings, evidence, a lock that seals the record and one report. A campaign is the full programme: many process audits, many auditors, automatic nonconformance follow-up, team KPIs and consolidated reports. Rule of thumb: if the audit has follow-up actions someone else must close, run it as a campaign.
Can I get my data out?+
At any time. The Team tab exports everything in the workspace — campaigns, audits, findings, nonconformances and their closure responses — as a single file.
Start your next internal audit here
The workspace takes about a minute to set up, and if it is empty the Campaigns tab will load a realistic sample campaign so you can walk the whole flow — findings, an auto-raised NC, the tracker — and delete it afterwards. Learning to audit as well as manage audits? The Internal Auditor course is free during launch on the same account.
Qlause Audit Manager is free while the team edition is in beta. Your workspace data can be exported in full at any time from the Team tab. The clause guidance is practical auditor guidance in plain English — it reproduces no standard text, and you will need your own licensed copies of the standards you audit against.
