The 2015 annexes were brief structural notes. The 2026 edition introduces a substantial new informative Annex A: clause-by-clause guidance on interpreting and applying clauses 4 to 10. It adds no requirements and you cannot receive a finding 'against Annex A' — but it will quietly shape how certification auditors read the requirements they do audit against. That makes it the highest-leverage reading in the new edition: it tells you how the standard's authors expect the grey areas to be interpreted.

ISO 9001:2026 says
A new informative Annex A gives clause-by-clause application guidance for clauses 4–10 — no new requirements, but it will steer auditor interpretation.
