Management review — what changed from 2015 to 2026

The steering meeting keeps its 2015 shape — top management, planned intervals, continuing suitability, adequacy, effectiveness and alignment with strategic direction — but the published text changes what flows in and what it is called. The input list grows from six to eight: changes in the needs and expectations of interested parties becomes a new, explicit input alongside changes in external and internal issues, and the effectiveness of actions on risks and on opportunities are now two separate inputs, each pointing back to the restructured 6.1. The outputs are retitled 'results' (9.3.3) with the same content: decisions on improvement opportunities, on changes to the QMS and on resource needs.
ISO 9001:2015 said
Six defined inputs, including one combined line on the effectiveness of actions on risks and opportunities; outputs on improvement, QMS changes and resources.
ISO 9001:2026 says
Eight inputs: a new one on changes in interested-party needs and expectations, and risks and opportunities evaluated as two separate verdicts; the outputs are renamed 'results', with unchanged content.
What to actually do
Add an interested-parties row to your management-review agenda and split the risk/opportunity effectiveness item in two; rename the minutes section 'results' when you next revise the template.
