CI Culture & Scientific Thinking (PDCA)
Tools alone do not sustain improvement - behaviour does. This module covers why culture sits above the tools in the Shingo model, what scientific thinking and PDCA look like in daily practice, and how the Improvement Kata and Coaching Kata turn improvement into a habit. You finish able to run one small PDCA experiment and coach it with the five questions.
What you'll learn
- ✓Why tool-led programmes stall, and how the Shingo model puts behaviour beneath results
- ✓How respect for people and psychological safety get problems surfaced early instead of hidden
- ✓Run a PDCA loop: predict, test small, check against the prediction, then adopt or adjust
- ✓The Improvement Kata's four steps: direction, current condition, next target condition, experiment
- ✓The five coaching questions, and why leaders ask rather than hand down answers
