Deepfakes and Voice Cloning

Why the five-second scan has a new line: three seconds of audio clones a voice and one conference talk clones a face, so you verify the request, not the voice. The shape of a deepfake request (money, secrecy, urgency, a reason you can't call back); verifying through a channel you already have — the number in your contacts, a question only the real person can answer, the agreed word; why a face on a video call is not proof, with the Hong Kong case where every other person on the call was a deepfake; the three money rules a finance team agrees in advance; the cloned-voice "distress" call at home and the famous-face investment scam the FSCA warned about; what a deepfake can't do; and reporting every attempt.

• ✓Verify through a channel you already have, every time: a number you already had, a question only the real person can answer, or the agreed word.
• ✓Never move money, change bank details or share a code on the strength of a call or a video alone.
• ✓Report an attempt at once — even when it failed.

What this module evidences: ISO/IEC 27001:2022 clause 7.3 (awareness) and Annex A control A.6.3 (information security awareness, education and training); the staff-awareness and security duties in data-protection law (for example GDPR Articles 32 and 39). The quiz result is recorded against your account, and passing it earns this module’s dated certificate.
