Module 18 · 11:24 video + 10-question quiz
Home and Family Cyber Safety
The last module of the core programme: the people you go home to are on the same team. Your home is a network now and the router is the front door — the admin password, the updates, remote management off, a guest Wi-Fi for visitors and smart devices, and every camera's default password changed the day it's plugged in; the scams that come home — the "new number", the bank's "security department", the uniform at the door asking for the grant card and PIN, the refund, the parcel — and the one rule that stops all of them: call back on the number you already have; the grandparents and three phone rules on a card by the phone; the children's devices set up with them, the stranger in the game and the harder conversation about sextortion, with the rule that matters most: you will never be in trouble for telling us; the family rules for the fridge, two-step sign-in on the family email, backups and the photos, the work laptop at home — and why criminals come home at all.

The scenario
Sunday, 18:10 — a WhatsApp from a number you don't know: "Hi Dad, this is my new number, my phone fell in the pool. Can you save this one?" Then: "I'm stuck at the garage, they won't release the car until I pay, and my banking app is locked on the new phone. Can you do R4 750 now?" You pay. Twenty minutes later your daughter walks in from the braai next door. Her phone is fine. Her number hasn't changed. The money is gone, and the number that thanked you is already deleted.
