Use of the FSSC 22000 logo and certified status

Plain-language summary

The logo and any reference to your certified status may be used for marketing only — never on the product, its label, its packaging or its certificates.

What the clause is really asking

Certification says your management system meets the scheme; it does not endorse any individual product. So the logo — obtained from your certification body in the specified green and grey, or black and white — may appear on printed matter, your website and promotional material, but not on a product, its labelling, primary or secondary packaging, certificates of analysis or conformance, anything implying FSSC 22000 approves a product, process or service, or where exclusions to your scope apply.

What auditors look for

Auditors check packaging artwork, CoA and CoC templates, websites and brochures. A logo on a label or a CoA is a nonconformity every time.

How to comply — recommendations

Put the rule into artwork control and document templates so the logo cannot creep onto packaging or certificates. Keep a single approved logo file from your CB and a one-line policy on where it may appear.
